Come join us to kick off the holiday season at the Town’s 19th Annual Tree Lighting event that will be held on Saturday December 2nd 4-8pm.
Beginning at 4PM, the Town Hall grounds will once again be transformed into a sparkling winter wonderland with live music from the band TIMELESS, a snow machine, and a festive synthetic ice rink - so don’t forget your skates! We will be offering holiday-themed games and crafts, a selfie-station, coloring books, and many more activities. Special performances from the Seekonk Middle School chorus and Teddy Bear Preschool will also be featuring a selection of carols and holiday music.
Our popular hot chocolate bar is back with beverages from Young’s catering, as well as complimentary popcorn and cotton candy! This year we will also have a selection of food trucks, like Red’s Kitchen and Fancheezical, so be sure to bring your appetite. Several other local vendors will be offering their goods in our special holiday marketplace – the perfect opportunity to start shopping for gifts!
Countdown to the Tree lighting will take place at 6PM followed by a visit from Santa, as he makes a special trip from the North Pole by fire truck. Children will have the opportunity to meet with Santa, take pictures, and participate in a sing-a-long with him as well. A special North Pole mailbox will be set up in front of the Town Hall, so don’t forget your letter!
There will be handicap accessible parking at Town Hall, as well as some regular parking behind the playground (on a first-come basis). However, for your convenience offsite parking will be available at the Seekonk High School with a shuttle throughout the event.
We hope that you can join us in continuing this well-loved Town tradition as we kick off the holiday season and we look forward to seeing you there!
