On June 7, 2021 the Town voted to appropriate the sum of $1,500,000.00, to pay for the costs of designing, planning, and engineering for construction of a DPW facility on land owned by the Town of Seekonk at 351 Fall River Ave, including the payment of all architectural and engineering services, and any other costs incidental or related thereto, and that to meet this appropriation, the Treasurer, with the approval of the Board of Selectmen, is authorized to borrow said amount under and pursuant to M.G.L. c. 44, § 7(1) or any other enabling authority, and to issue bonds or notes of the Town therefor, and that any premium received upon the sale of bonds or notes approved by this vote, less any such premium applied by this vote in accordance with M.G.L. c. 44, § 20, thereby reducing the amount authorized to be borrowed to pay such costs by like amount.
On June 7, 2021 the Town voted that the Town authorize the Town Moderator and the Board of Selectmen to appoint a DPW Building Committee consisting of nine residents, four to be appointed by the Town Moderator, and five to be appointed by the Board of Selectmen for the purpose of overseeing the construction of a new DPW facility at 351 Fall River Ave, under the direction of the Board of Selectmen, to include but not be limited to, planning and design for the completion of the building, development of appropriate designs, schematics, specifications, cost estimates, oversight of expenditures, and any other documentation required to construct and furnish such facility.
On November 8, 2021 the Town voted to authorize the reduction of the DPW Building members from nine (9) to five (5), consisting of five residents, two to be appointed by the Town Moderator, and three to be appointed by the Board of Selectmen for the purpose of overseeing the construction of a new DPW facility at 351 Fall River Ave, under the direction of the Board of Selectmen, to include but not be limited to, planning and design for the completion of the building, development of appropriate designs, schematics, specifications, cost estimates, oversight of expenditures, and any other documentation required to construct and furnish such facility.
