Central Avenue Roadway Improvements
The construction season has come to an end. New Traffic Signal equipment has been installed, including pedestrian indications. The signal will continue to operate on fixed time until next season. Loop detection will be implemented next spring, once the final paving has been complete. A separate phase has been added for Pine Street.
Drainage improvements are complete. Paving (base and binder) has occured within the entire project limits as well. Final paving (surface course) will occur next season. Utility pole reloactions and utility coordination are on-going. Most of the sidewalks have been constructed at the Baker's Corner intersection. Additional sidewalks have been installed along the west side of Central Avenue from Baker's Corner to Pond Street. Note that there is a 3-foot grass strip serving as a utility corridor between the curb and sidewalk from Haig Avenue north.
