Dave Bowden, Chair. Dave worked for 27 years with the Seekonk Fire Department, the last 7 years as Fire Chief. He served on the Planning Board for over 10 years and was Seekonk’s Planner/Health Agent in the 1980s. He was on the Building Committee for the Seekonk Town Hall and designer/Building Committee member for the Animal Shelter. He has 17 years of experience in architectural sales with U.S. Plywood/Champion International. He also worked for 17 years as fire alarm engineer for a local alarm company.
Mia Alwen is a full-time Assistant Professor in interior design at New England Institute of Technology in Warwick, RI. A native of Sweden, she did undergraduate studies in art history and studio art in upstate New York and has a Masters of Interior Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design. She has worked in both commercial and residential design. As a Seekonk resident, she is eager to create a space for seniors and the rest of the community that is functional, esthetically-pleasing, and earth-friendly in its impact on the environment.
Gail Ardito, Clerk.
Maggy Madarentz, an architect, was born in Beirut, Lebanon and received her Masters in Architecture from ALBA, a school affiliated with the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. She moved to the US in 1987 to escape the civil war in Lebanon, settling in Seekonk. An associate at William D. Warner Architects and Planners, Maggy has participated in the "Renaissance of Providence" – relocation of the rivers, relocation of I-195, the I-Way bridge, the Manchester powering station, etc. She also worked with Friedrich St. Florian on Providence Place and the World War II memorial in Washington, DC.
Bob McLintock, Vice Chair. A graduate of Johnson and Wales College, Bob has a degree in Business Management. Bob has managed his own businesses for most of his life. He was founder and President of Ocean State Industrial Sales Co. for 12 years which imported, sold, customized and serviced CNC numerical manufacturing machinery to companies in the U.S. He went on to become President of Desmark Industries for 15 years, a company that manufactured custom made Christmas ornaments gift and collectable items. Bob served on the Seekonk Board of Selectmen for 6 years and the Seekonk School Committee, also for 6 years. He is a former member of the Finance Committee, Hurley School building committee and served on many other committees in town over the past 28 years. Bob has served as Seekonk’s
representative to Tri Country Regional Technical School for the past 17 years and served as Chairman for 2 years. He is also Chairman of the Tri County Technology sub-committee.
Jack Vatcher, currently retired, was a construction superintendent for more than 40 years. He has built many commercial buildings throughout New England, including hospitals, churches, and shopping malls. He has been a resident of Seekonk for 45 years.
