Special Town Election, July 16, 2018

At the Annual Town Meeting May 14, 2018 the Town voted with a 2/3 majority to go to ballot to appropriate borrow or transfer $1,379,902 for the purpose of paying costs of the  Aitken Elemtary School Accelerated Repairs Project .

There will be a Special Town Election on July 16, 2018 held at the High School 261 Arcade Ave.

The Ballot will read: " Shall the Town of Seekonk be allowed to exempt from the provisions of proposition two and one-half, so-called, the amounts required to pay for the bonds to be issued in order to pay costs of the Accelerated Repair Project- Exterior Window, Door Replacements and Associated Work at the Mildred H. Aitken Elementary School, 165 Newman Avenue, Seekonk, MA 02771, including the payment of all costs incidental or related thereto?" 

Absentee ballots will be available for this election. Please check with the Town Clerk's office before coming in to absentee vote to make sure we have received the ballots. We should be receiving the absentee ballots by June 18 but please call ahead just to make sure. If you are planning on mailing in a request to absentee ballot please remember it takes time with the mail so plan accordingly. 

If you are not a registered voter in Seekonk  please know that the deadline to register to vote for this election is June 26, 2018.
